Molecular sieve 5A

Molecular sieve 5A can adsorb any molecules smaller than its pore diameter, and it is generally called calcium molecular sieve. In addition to the functions of molecular sieves 3A and 4A, it can also adsorb C3-C4 normal alkanes, chloroethane, bromoethane, butanol, etc. It can be applied to the separation of normal and isomeric hydrocarbons, pressure swing adsorption separation, and the co-adsorption of water and carbon dioxide.
Main Uses
This type of molecular sieve absorbs substances at the molecular level. It can adsorb up to 22% of its own weight in water. Its adsorption principle is similar to that of chromatography, except that it does not change the molecular composition of the substances.

1. Drying, desulfurization, and removal of carbon dioxide from natural gas;

2. Separation of nitrogen and oxygen, separation of nitrogen and hydrogen to produce oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen;

3. Dewaxing of petroleum, and separation of normal alkanes from branched hydrocarbons and cyclic hydrocarbons.
